Unsupported Taxes

There are several local state taxes that are currently unsupported through payroll. If an employer is in one of these jurisdictions, they will need to submit tax payments and filings directly to the agency.

Nevada Modified Business Tax (MBT)

Employers who are subject to Nevada state unemployment are also subject to Nevada MBT. The MBT FAQ has additional information. The tax is due quarterly and a filing is required even in quarters where $0 is due.

New Jersey Jersey City Tax

Employers in Jersey City are subject to a 1% tax on their gross payrolls. The tax is due quarterly. 

Registered users can pay online. Employers can also pay by mail and must include the FEIN on the check payment.

New Jersey Newark Payroll Tax

New York Metropolitan Commuter Transportation Mobility Tax (MCTMT)

Certain Employers in New York are liable for MCTMT. Employers can pay online here. The tax is due quarterly.

Vermont Healthcare Contributions

Employers who do not offer insurance to all of their employees pay into a healthcare fund contribution. The tax is due quarterly.

Federal Tax Return for Agricultural Employees (Form 943)

File this form if you paid wages to one or more farmworkers and the wages were subject to Social Security and Medicare taxes or federal income tax withholding.
